Day 3

EFL537, Cohort#4
Day #3, July 21 2010
Today, there's only one new task on your 'To Do' list.
- Activity Creation - Take some time to look at the examples and at websites that post activities. Then attempt to use Hot Potatoes and to the task - create a Hot Potatoes activity and post it on EFl537.com as a blog entry file attachment.
Try
to bookmark at least 5 sites in your Delicoius account by the end of
class. Take another look at: What
is Delicious.com and why is it useful? and Social
Bookmarking Skills Training if you have any
questions. (make sure the Delicious button is installed in your
browser). I will be available for live contact starting at 9am today. First I'll answer any urgent questions that people have. Then I'd like to have have short one-on-on video skype chats with each of you. I think it would be best to set up a single computer for this purpose and then take turns using that computer. When we begin speaking, please tell me your EFl537 ID (e.g. vnu4z) and what I should call you. Then let's talk. I really just want to get to know each of you personally. Please feel free to ask any questions or bring up any topics you like (about assignments, CALL, or anything else). During this time I won't be able to answer technical questions that other students have, but we'll try to finish conferences in time to have time for tech Q & A during the last hour of class (11am~noon). If conferences take longer than expected, we can continue them tomorrow.
A couple of notes...
- Don't worry if you don't see something you've done on the Student Work Checklist. Sometimes, I just haven't updated the Student Work page yet, or I overlook things, or there's some other issue. If it's been a while (24 hours) since you've done something and it's not listed, Just check with me and if you've done it we'll find it and make sure you get credit eventually.
- Just a reminder that Reading Review#1 is due by the end of the day. Please post it on the EFL537.com website by clicking 'create/blog entry'.
- If you'd like to follow Posterous blogs from your
classmates or other
people, go to their blog (classmates' blogs are listed on the Profile
page) and click 'Subscribe to this Posterous'.

Then, when you click 'My subscriptions' at the top of the page, you'll see posts from all the blogs you've subscribed to.

Also, please feel free to have fun with your blog and post materials (photos, videos, etc) unrelated to EFL537. I always enjoy getting to see glimpses into my students' lives.
